Found a Stray?
When you encounter a stray animal please remember that your safety should always come first. Please do not attempt to handle an animal under unsafe circumstances.
What to do when you find a stray dog:

Dog control services are jurisdictional. Meaning that only the officer contracted to that jurisdiction is able to take possession of a stray dog.

Please refer to the map below to find your location’s dog control officer.

Strays brought to us will be vaccinated at the owners expense.

What to do when you find a stray cat:

There are no animal control services for cats

Stray cats may be brought in as space allows. Please call the main shelter at 315-782-3260 to check for availability.

Strays brought to us will be vaccinated at the owners expense.

We do not accept feral cats and will refer you to our TNR program as an alternative solution.
